DAMYARANARAK

Damyacyclin ®

Oxytetracycline 100 mg tablet
For veterinary use only.
Category: Antibiotics (Tetracyclines).
Form: Oral tablet.
Compound: Each tablet contains 100 mg oxytetracycline (as hydrochloride).
Target Animal: Calves, lambs, kids, dogs, cats and poultry
Indication: A broad-spectrum antibiotic for prevention and treatment of gram-positive and gram-negative gastrointestinal bacterial infections caused by Salmonella typhimurium, E-Coli, and respiratory bacterial infections caused by Pasteurella multocida.
Mode of Action: Oxytetracycline is bacteriostatic and by reversibly binding to the 30S ribosomal subunits of drug-sensitive bacteria, it prevents protein synthesis. It also exerts its antibacterial effect by reversibly binding to bacterial 50S ribosomes and interfering with bacterial cytoplasmic membrane permeability.
Pharmacokinetic: Oxytetracycline is absorbed immediately after oral administration.
Its bioavailability is 60-80%. It spreads widely in different tissues of the body including heart, kidney, lungs and secretions of bile, saliva, urine and joint fluid. This drug passes through the placenta and also enters the milk. Its binding rate with plasma protein is 10-40%. Oxytetracycline is excreted unmetabolized through glomerular filtration through urine and also through feces. The half-life of this drug is 3.6 hours in sheep and 4.3-9.7 hours in calf.
Dosage and Administration:

  • Calves, lambs, and kids: 11-22 mg/kg, 3 or 4 times for 3-5 days.
  • Dogs and cats: 33-110 mg/kg, 3 or 4 times for 3-5 days.
  • Poultry: 1/4 to one tablet daily in divided doses for 3-5 days.

Contraindication: Do not use in oxytetracycline-sensitive animals, in adult ruminants, and in dairy livestock whose milk is being consumed by humans.
Caution: Because tetracyclines cause a delay in skeletal development and change the color of teeth in the fetus, it is better to use them only in the second half of pregnancy if necessary. In animals with kidney and liver problems, it should be used with caution and with a dose lower than normal. In horses and foals that are under stress, dangerous gastrointestinal complications may occur.
keep out of reach of children.
Drug interaction: Do not use with compounds containing divalent and trivalent metal ions (aluminum, calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, and bismuth), which reduce the absorption of oxytetracycline in the digestive system.
Side Effects: Its use in young animals can change the color of teeth and bones, and long-term use of high doses can delay bone growth and repair.
Oxytetracycline use is associated with photosensitivity reactions and rarely with liver damage and blood disorders.
Withdrawal time:

  • Meat: 14 days.

Preservation: keep away from light and at room temperature (below 30°C).
Packing: Box containing 200 tablets (20 tablets in a blister).
