Neoforte ®

Neomycin sulfate + kaolin + pectin powder
For veterinary use only.
Category: Anti diarrhea – Antibiotic (Aminoglycosides).
Form: Water soluble powder.
Compound: Each 100 gram powder of sachet contains:

• Neomycin sulfate  1 g.
• Kaolin 97 g.
• Pectin 2 g.

Target Animal: Calves, lambs and foals.
Indication: For treatment of intestinal infections, diarrhea and absorption of toxins in the gastrointestinal tract.
Dosage and Administration:
Mix one sachet (100 g) in one liter of water and consume the mixture as follows:

• Lamb: 250 ml, twice daily for 3 consecutive days.
• Calves & foals: 250 -500 ml, twice daily for 3 consecutive days.

Note: Shake well before use.
Caution: However, after oral administration of neomycin, small amount of it is absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract,  It is better to be careful in its simultaneous use with nephrotoxic medicine. Consider adequate drinking water and electrolyte replacement during treatment. The medicine should not be used more than 3 consecutive days. Must be kept out of reach of children.
Drug interaction: Co-administration of neomycin with antibiotics of the beta-lactam group (penicillin and cephalosporin) exacerbates the effect of neomycin, so in these cases, prescribe the medicine with caution. The Concurrent use of this medicine with other aminoglycosides and vitamin B12 is not recommended.
Contraindication: Do not use in hypersensitivity reactions to aminoglycosides and animals with intestinal obstruction.
Side effects: Neomycin in rare cases may cause auditory and renal disorders, acute diarrhea and  malabsorption in gastrointestinal tract.
Withdrawal time:

• Meat: 20 days.

Preservation: Must be kept in closed containers, a dry place, away from direct light and at room temperature (below 30°C).
